Saturdays were made for weddings...

As I was made for styling them :)

As man is getting scarcer and scarcer these days, I challenge you eligible spinsters to buy your wedding dress, pick a date, make your bridesmaids list and just call me. My humble self will take care of the rest.

Hand made head piece made by moi! So proud of these little angels

You see my dears, all things work by faith. Your husband will meet you on that day at the altar I swear!

\Recently I have been accused of not including the male specie in my portfolio so this is a public service announcement that I also do male wedding accessories like corsages, bow-ties and souvenirs too.

Started from the bottom, now we here!

As we are all used to the funny pictures associated with this phrase ranging from the horse tail now Brazilian hair, the ororo lip gloss now ruby woo lipstick, and the funniest of all the loubs!

Well well, today's post is really not a slouchy something at all....
Hmm, it all started when I became a workaholic and all of a sudden i became a "flaty". Normally I would take my flat shoes then change later to my heels (ya know for comfort).

Its easy for 3 months to go by now and I realized #inTheDbanjWay suddenly, suddenly suddenly suddenly I haven't been any wearing heels. (i should put 5 exclamation marks here but read further and put it yourself)

Now this is the difference between a "heel climber" and a "flaty"

The Heel Climber

The Flaty (i edited the shoes but you get)

Yes yes we know its comfortable but it shouldn't affect your chic status quo, stress yasef a little (especially when you need to make an impression). And guess what, wearing heels for a longer period will only hurt for a while, but they can help prevent knee problems at an older age.
So I'v made a new year resolution since October is my birth month :D and it marks a new year for me but if you catch me wearing flats y'all know January is the beginning of the year right?

Love it or not?

Its been a while, i know, i know, apologies.....

I have been having this argument with myself and now is its time i involve some other people so i end the monologue iv been having for a while now (now you know why i have been talking to myself a lot. I'm not mad :)

While I was making some sample sketches for a bridal train, I started this argument in my head - Why do people spend so much on a bridal dress that they wouldn't wear again? and i was faced with the counter argument - Why take away the bridal feel of the dress? So i came up with this

I am a major contender of functionality of an outfit, A.K.A ma wo kini yi kpa! A.K.A i go wear this thing die! A.K.A (the English version is not interesting)

I will love your feedback on this dress. Not saying its the perfect bridal train dress but it is something you can wear any day anytime without it screaming it was on a bridal train.

Thanks :*

Inspire a Child

I'v been wanting to do a post on my inspirations, today is that day.

If I am ever to intern for a designer it would have to be either of two people - Elie Saab & (ill leave the second person for another day). Elie Saab is a Lebanese self taught designer who started making clothes at the age of 9 and by 18 opened his Couture Atelier in Beirut and today the rest is history...(this is the point where you ask Google)

I am most intrigued by the fluidity of his cuts and the sophistication easily transforming you from grass to grace... (At this very moment I'm high LOL)....

ELIE SAAB Haute Couture Spring Summer 2012

Dazed in this haze, I stumbled on this fashion training course by Knight & Jewel Couture targeting young school leavers, students and basically anyone interested in fashion and you can register by contacting the following numbers 08181442855, 08060776077, 08029550938

Tight babes = happening babes

Matching outfits is always fun, at least 90% of the girls I know love to play dress up especially *coughs* (name withheld) this is her best game after a break up.

was definitely not meant to be a crop top

choking feet

same shoes, comfortable feet

The most important thing to consider when dressing up is if the outfit is occasion appropriate and the comfort. Comfort can never be over emphasized - when it’s too tight just drop it and pick another size next to it and if you are not so good walking in heels, start out with a 3 inch or better still a wedge, practice, practice, practice... practice makes perfect!

Last weekend was so cool i helped style a photo shoot for this cool headphone and Bluetooth device - Ziwik

Why People LOL in Public

What do you see when you look at this Celine bag?

We all have fun memories with friends we want to keep and which make us laugh out loud in public (...well if your memories are not well behaved like mine which pop up every now and then #embarrassing sometimes... who cares???) This Celine bag sure wont tell my secrets as its 'lips are sealed' :X, get it?

Speaking of friends and secrets, I have a guest writer today +amarachi alisiobi , its her birthday tomorrow and she thinks my blog will get her more gifts, well...

I have searched, and no words can perfectly describe everything I have and want to say to everyone who have been in my life these past twenty-four years, more than the lyrics of honor society's 'where are you now'.

(Modified by me in some cases)
To my favorite teacher,
told me never give up
To my secondary school crush,
who I thought I really
loved
To the girls I miss, and
the guys we kissed
Where are you now?
To my ex best friend,
don't know how we grew
apart
To my favorite band, and
sing alongs on my bed
To the face i see, in my
memories
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
Cuz I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like i do
If it wasn't for you I
would never be who I am
To my first boyfriend, I thought for sure
was the one
To my last boyfriend, sorry that I screwed
this up
To the ones I loved and didn't show it
enough
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
Cuz I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like i do
If it wasn't for you I would never be who I
am
I know I'll never see those days again
And things will never be that way again
But that's just how it goes
People change, but I know
I won't forget you
To the ones who cared and were there from
the start
To the love that left, and took a piece of my
heart
To the few who'd swear, I'd never go
anywhere
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
Cuz I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn't for you I would never be who I
am
If it wasn't for you I would never be who I
am
If it wasn't for you I'd be nothing
Where are you now

Tempted to include names, but I feel everyone knows where they belong :D
And if the song is all u care about,

http://a.tumblr.com/tumblr_lgjh0v9FXr1qbh0d8o1.mp3.

And if you are thinking of the perfect birthday gift for me tomorrow :D, just book a room for me at Radisson Blu. I need to spend the day reflecting in luxury :D

Love,
Mama

DIY Diary: When i'm bored...

I try out new stuff!

Call me itchy hands, whatever!  They make great stuff :D
Lesson 1: Dont dash your tailor or seamstress your leftover ankara or fabric, they are ALWAYS useful. You could tell your seamstress to combine all your leftover fabric and make a nice top or a hair piece or a clutch  but you will definitely need some professional help with that (you can see me in camera for a design, i will be glad to help :D ) Cool stuff right? used mine for something different though...

I got different fabrics and stitched them together, you can make out a pattern with your stitches if you like, mine is simply in boxes.

Place a frame on the stitched surface and mark out the openings and make cuts to fit them and #Glue #Glue #Glue. You can ask an art store near you for a suitable glue.

Finish up with a plain matching piece of fabric on the inside

Done!
#On to the next one... See ya *kisses*

DIY Diary: its an emergency!!!

That moment after i postponed getting a new eye liner and kept on sharpening till the wax was out

 ( ._.) (._. ) (._.) uh oh!

That's when my super powers came on and i realized a magical wand, Broomsticks!!!! (i know it correlates with super powers but forget i ever said that) moving on...

It might be razz but there are ways to make it tush by rinsing it in water and pouring some hand sanitizer on it and rinsing it again.

Scooping the remains of the teeny weeny pencil

And the rest is history

with your eyes wide closed :D
Tada!!!

Throwback Friday :D

Hey guys,
I was watching Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (my Sunday addiction :D) and i couldn't help notice Aunt Viv's (Janet Hubert) style. What beats me is that this show was aired like in 1990/1993 like some twenty years back. This is not my favorite piece she wore on set, its one aqua marine and blue dress *drooling* i searched for the picture but couldn't find it but.... I mean look at that jacket!!!!
Janet Hubert
This got me thinking like fashion never really dies, it just comes back again - Abiku or Ogbanje?  -__- LOL! Anyway you get  the story line. I'll be sharing with you some few trends that came back :)

The denim jacket crave from the 80's

Robin Scherbatsky or Robin Sparkles in those days LOL ... for the #HIMYM lovers

Yep turbans are back and one of my favorite ensemble is Karolina Kurkova's outfit at the Met Gala 2012 #AbsoluteGlam

Designed by Rachel Zoe

Every girl loves a jump suit cos its one piece so you just need to look for accessories #phew

a 70's - 80's trend which came back in 2011 and is still here

This article wont be complete without some stunners :D

In other news cheers to the freaking weekend #TGIF :*
